Abstract

How can researchers and practitioners in education usefully understand technology, education, and their relationship to improve teaching practice? In this volume, Jon Dron articulates a new theory that treats education as a technological phenomenon. He uses this theory to reframe popular families of educational theory and explain a variety of educational phenomena, including the failure of learning style theories, literacies, the prevalence of cheating, and the fundamental differences between online and in-person learning.
