Abstract

The e-learning platform VBA@HfTL supports learning of basic programming concepts by use of the popular programming language Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). This platform was developed by students for students, such that a student2student-approach was realized. Our case study deals with the conceptual foundation of this approach and explains the organizational and technical parameters of the development project. The project results show that students are capable to develop e-learning resources within a self-organized manner and thereby can acquire interdisciplinary knowledge of information systems engineering. Due to the high resonance, the resulting e-learning platform provides not only a valuable contribution to support learning processes in education and training, but also provides an opportunity to raise the profile of education by public-relations work.
