Abstract

Australia’s geography calls for distance learning in the truest sense of the word, with distances up to 800 miles between campuses of one university. Therefore, it does not come as a surprise that videoconferencing and teleteaching are more popular compared to Europe. To see how this influences the character of teaching and learning, to learn about the successful implementation and to gather material for research on communicative aspects of teleteaching have been the main objectives of this field study in Australia.
