Abstract

By now central learning platforms have been established at many universities. Wide interests of many groups, like lecturers, students, central institutions including the administration of the university, have to be considered so that these platforms can be used for a long time. That refers to evaluation processes in order to implement learning platforms on the one side, and to re-evaluation processes on the other side which are necessary to make the university's infrastructure suitable to conditions and needs under change. At the University of Trier there have been carried out (re-)evaluation processes which systematically consider all stakeholders at the university. These processes are based on a network established within a project on e-learning integration including all e-learning-support facilities and development facilities at the university. The article at hand presents concepts of evaluation and re-evaluation processes at the University of Trier as a case study. The main focus is on the actors' roles and tasks within these decision making processes; less attention is paid to the process as such with respect to the choice of criteria, the evaluation and the results.
